Our Plan

So how are we going to deliver Our Vision?

Our initial plan partly mitigates the impact of the recent actions of VWHDC and aims to put the residents back in control of their own destiny.

This plan will need to evolve over the coming weeks/months. This will be partly driven by what we learn from VWHDC about the actions it has taken and the implications those actions may have on the handover process.

TDRA has an initial four point plan:

  1. Find out what has been agreed between VWHDC and the developer, in respect to the inspection held, the certificate issued to Bloor Homes and what the implications are on the maintenance period and ultimately the full handover timeline:
    • Reach out to VWHDC, our local VWHDC councillor, our parish councillor and others. DONE.
    • Failing that, submit a formal Freedom of Information (FOI) request and complaint to VWHDC. DONE.
    • Follow on engagement will be required with VHWDC and Bloor to ensure the residents gain control of the handover outcome. DONE.
  2. Raise visibility of what the RA is trying to achieve to establish the desired end game within the public domain:
    • Get on the agenda at the monthly parish committee meetings. ONGOING.
    • Publish positive articles on local media outlets as to what TDRA is trying to achieve. ONGOING.
  3. Assess the level of interest from residents:
    • How interested are they in the outcome of the handover process? DONE.
    • Build some easy-to-understand examples of the possible outcomes of the process, hosted on the RA’s website. DONE.
    • Ultimately, a vote will be required as to whether residents want to keep FirstPort or not.  Ideally, this will lead to an overwhelming support for moving away from FirstPort.  This is needed asap, to ensure residents are not forced into a FirstPort estate management outcome without being able to influence things. DONE.
    • Eventually a final vote will be required to ask residents which option for the running of the Management Company they want to take forward. NOT STARTED.
  4. Develop contacts in the Estate Management industry:
    • Build on existing industry contacts. ONGOING.
    • Collate quotes and build references for possible alternative Estate Managers. ONGOING.
    • Reach out to the Parish Council to gain access to their landscaping contractors. NOT STARTED.
    • This will allow us to develop options for the future of the Management Company. ONGOING.

Our Action is the result of turning this plan into things we need to do. Follow the link to find out more.
